While the World is under the pump to stay sane and keep going, our souls are chasing for sort of an oasis in the middle of a desert called self-isolation caused by COVID-19. My beloved sister-Melbourne became a ghost town. Thus, no-one cancelled birthdays, Uni graduations, anniversaries, special events. We transformed our lives into a digital space where all fun happens! Within these surreal-crazy times, I discovered something absolutely aromatic, something slick – perfume L’ambre #37. Among the huge variety of fragrances on the market, I grabbed lately for a test-drive- this fragrance is now in my Top 3.

To me, perfume was always associated with France. In my teens I was curious about the way perfume has been designed. Even travelling to Paris in 2003 the first impression of perfumes-mixes strolling down streets reminded me who is the mother -France. Purchasing Dior, Gucci or Chanel meant something luxurious, expansive, high-end and respectful.

Perfume is staged by three categories- Base notes, Heart notes, Top notes. Basically, once you spray a magical mist onto your wrist area, your top notes hit for the next 15 minutes, followed by emerging into your 2^nd stage-Heart notes lasting 3-4 hours and finishing with what will stay for 6-8 hours- Base Notes (Source: BCA Chemistry, June 2020).

In my youth I was experimenting with multiple sprays and can easily identify “cheap perfumes” from top-notch ones. How? Basically, cheap perfumes never go into stage 2 or 3. Once you spray 2 different cheaper perfumes- they leave the same “empty” odour on you, no identity, no distinction between them. In opposite, quality perfume blends nicely into your skin and follows, just like a tail you don’t need to chase- it chases You.

This beautiful composition incorporates freshness of citruses, sweet notes of Summer fruits, floral scent of Jasmin and patchouli (An aromatic oil obtained from a SE Asian shrub, which is used in the perfumery, insecticides, and medicine*).
